Biography
Ali Boyle specialises in the philosophy of mind and psychology, focussing on the minds of nonhuman animals. She received her BA, MPhil and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and held a Research Fellowship at Trinity Hall, Cambridge before joining LCFI. She is a Research Associate on the Kinds of Intelligence project, a position she holds jointly at LCFI and the Centre for Science and Thought in Bonn. In her recent work, she has written on self-recognition, mindreading and episodic memory in nonhuman animals. At LCFI, she will be focussing on episodic memory, exploring its role in cognition and its realisation in animals and artificial agents.
