The second History of AI event was held at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Columbia University on 23 and 24 May 2019.

The event was organised by Matthew L. Jones, James R. Barker Professor of Contemporary Civilization at Columbia University and Leader of our Research Cluster on Big Data and Science Studies, Stephanie Dick, Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Sociology of Science at the University of Pennsylvania, Aaron Plasek, doctoral researcher at Columbia University and Jonnie Penn, RWL Trust doctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge and Programme Lead on the History of AI project at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI) at the University of Cambridge.

This was the second in a series of workshops convened for early career researchers to discuss their current research on the major stages of the development of AI since the Second World War.
