In October 2017, the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence co-sponsored and participated in the event 'Beneficial AI Tokyo', with Academic Director Huw Price and Executive Director Stephen Cave (amongst others from the Centre) joining delegates from academic groups, NGOs, corporate groups and others to discuss effective ways to build cooperation for beneficial AI. The event was held in association with a symposium on AI and Society which explored the wider challenge of building a global and effective AI community, with a particular focus on Japan.
The participants expressed commitment to working towards AI for good, and endorsed a Conference Statement ‘Cooperation for Beneficial AI.’ If you would like to read or sign the statement, please visit the event webpage. The statement is available in English, Chinese and Japanese.
More information about the symposium, including topics discussed can be found here.
